KAPTEENI GULLIVERIN SERKULLEEN SYMPSONILLE KIRJOITTAMA KIRJE
After a storm wrecks his vessel, a modest English traveler washes ashore on Lilliput, a land of tiny people whose court is filled with elaborate rituals, petty quarrels, and a war over how an egg should be broken. Captured and made a curiosity of the emperor, he uses his ingenuity to avert disaster and learns the odd customs of this miniature society. A second tempest later carries him to Brobdingnag, where giants view him as a mere toy; here his wit and knowledge become prized, and he witnesses a world that values simple virtue over pomp.
Further voyages lead him to floating academies, isolated peoples, and distant kingdoms, each presenting bizarre institutions and exaggerated philosophies. From the scientific obsessions of the airborne Laputa to the fierce, secretive tribes of remote islands, his sharp observations expose the pretensions and contradictions of the societies he meets. Listeners are invited to laugh at the absurdities while reflecting on the universal follies of humanity.

Best known for the dazzling satire of Gulliver’s Travels and the savage wit of A Modest Proposal, this Anglo-Irish writer turned humor into a sharp tool for exposing vanity, cruelty, and political hypocrisy.
