Description

At the edge of a breezy New England river, a lively band of girls from a summer camp gathers for a day of mischief and camaraderie. When Cathalina spots her friend Isabel slipping toward the water, she shouts for a canoe, launching a frantic but good‑natured rescue that sets the tone for their spirited summer. Their leaderly banter, playful rivalries, and the sheer joy of outdoor adventure paint a vivid portrait of youthful energy against the backdrop of pine‑fringed hills and sparkling waterways.

The girls’ carefree plans are soon tempered by the arrival of Aunt Sylvia, their mother, whose unexpected visit adds a layer of family dynamics to the mix. With a car stranded in Boston and a boat ready to whisk them toward the city, Cathalina must balance her desire for fun with the practicalities of travel and the responsibilities of looking after her friends. As they prepare to set off, the promise of new experiences—and a few unforeseen hurdles—lies just beyond the dock, hinting at the growth and bravery that will define their season together.
