Description

In the fragrant courts of medieval Provence, chivalry is still measured by a delicate balance of honor and unselfish love. Guillaume de Cabestaign, a handsome and quick‑witted youth of modest means, serves as page to the magnanimous Lord Raymond of Roussillon while cultivating the art of the troubadour. His verses sparkle with the pure sentiment that once defined the age, earning him admiration from both comrades in arms and the wandering folk who cherish his songs.

Elevated to the position of gentleman usher for the lady Marguerite, Guillaume’s grace and lyrical gifts soon draw the young countess’s quiet fascination. Unaware of the stir his presence creates, he continues to praise her virtues in courtly rhyme, while she wrestles with a growing affection that conflicts with the strict expectations of her marriage. The story unfolds amid the glitter of tournaments, the hush of intimate chambers, and the ever‑present question of whether love can remain untouched by desire or duty.
