Description

In the glittering night of a Madrid that never sleeps, aristocrats drift through plush chambers and bustling theaters, trading gossip as effortlessly as they exchange pleasantries. A crowded performance has just ended, leaving the Count of Lara and his confidant Don Carlos to argue over the true nature of a gypsy dancer whose steps seem to capture heaven itself. Their conversation spirals from the surface of beauty to the deeper question of whether a woman who entertains onstage can also guard an unblemished soul.

Meanwhile, the Count schemes to win Preciosa’s favor, sending emissaries and lavish gifts, while the gypsy community watches with wary eyes. A youthful scholar named Victorian, a troupe of traveling musicians, and a bevy of earnest servants add layers of intrigue, each hinting at hidden loyalties and unspoken desires. Listeners will be drawn into a vivid tapestry of love, honor, and the clash between the rigid expectations of noble Madrid and the free‑spirited world of the gypsies—setting the stage for a drama that tests the limits of faith and passion.
