Description

A tender yet anguished portrait unfolds in a Regency‑era manor, where young Isabel grapples with the crushing weight of a first love turned cold. When her beloved cousin, a hopeful page eager for military glory, vanishes without a word, the house is suffused with whispered concern and lingering hope. Isabel’s father, oblivious to her inner turmoil, offers only a cryptic note about a fleeting farewell, leaving her to confront the hollow echo of unspoken affection.

The page’s desperate letter arrives, a raw confession of love, regret, and a resolve to leave the world behind in search of redemption. As Isabel reads his trembling words, tears cascade and the castle’s corridors feel emptier than ever. The narrative lingers on her mournful reflections, hinting at the lingering ache of unfulfilled devotion while the future of both hearts remains uncertain.
