In a remote forest valley known as the Two‑Lakes Valley, a small band of lumberjacks huddles in Gallagher’s camp as Christmas approaches. The men are stuck with endless rations of salted meat while the promise of a juicy roast goose feels like a distant dream, and a sudden blizzard has cut off any chance of fresh supplies. Their restless leader, Tim “the Boss” Gallagher, tries to keep spirits up despite the bitter cold and dwindling provisions.

The camp’s resident cook, Jimmy Dillyhunt, doubles as a quick‑witted boxer, turning the cramped mess hall into a stage for good‑natured ribbing and impromptu bouts that keep morale from freezing over. Meanwhile, the forest’s wildlife—once abundant trout—has vanished, and rumors of poachers and restless elk add an undercurrent of danger to the otherwise raucous holiday revelry. As the night deepens, the men must confront both the howling storm outside and the simmering tensions within their own ranks.
