Description

Frank Reade, Jr., the celebrated teenage prodigy of Readestown, has just turned his boundless imagination toward the sea. After perfecting an electric air‑ship, he announces a daring new venture: a submarine fashioned after the buoyant sunfish, complete with bladder‑like air reservoirs, fins for balance and an electric‑driven screw. His old friend, seasoned explorer George Stanhope, skeptical but intrigued, vows to join the maiden voyage, bringing his rugged field experience to the laboratory’s bold experiment.

The pair christen their craft the “Electric Dolphin” and plunge beneath New Orleans’ waters, eager to test its oxygen‑circulating generators and maneuverability. Early trials promise encounters with mysterious wrecks and the legend of a silver whale that stalks the deep. Listeners are invited to follow the first thrilling hours of this underwater odyssey, where invention meets daring exploration.
