Description

Four adventurous youths, led by a teenage millionaire, find themselves ashore on the dense island of Borneo after a globe‑spanning cruise. Equipped with a sturdy steam‑launch, they spend three weeks hunting, fishing, and tracing the winding Sarawak, Sadong, and Simujan rivers. Their excursions bring them into remote Dyak villages, where they observe local customs and catalogue exotic plants and animals. The relentless pace of river travel soon grows weary, and the friends yearn for a change of scenery.

Motivated by a love of discovery rather than a need for comfort, they resolve to leave the jungle behind and sail for the bustling capital of Siam. Naming their launch Blanchita, they set a course for Bangkok, eager to trade the misty highlands for the vibrant streets and palaces beyond. Their next chapter promises fresh sights and new challenges, building on the camaraderie forged in the tropical wilderness.
