A grieving queen, desperate for an heir, follows a talking crab into a hidden palace of diamonds where six glittering fairies present her with jeweled flowers. Their blessings bring a beautiful baby girl, Desired, but the crab returns with a dreadful warning: the princess must never see daylight before her fifteenth year or her life will be in peril. To keep the promise, the royal couple constructs a window‑less tower, raising Desired in perpetual candlelight, nurturing her wit and virtue while the world outside remains a mystery.

When Desired’s portrait finally reaches distant courts, countless princes are enchanted, yet only one—Prince Warrior—falls truly hopelessly in love. Determined to unite them, the king commissions a sealed, windowless coach to carry the sheltered princess across the kingdom, accompanied by two attendants whose loyalties could not be more different.
