In the opening tales, the world is swallowed by a sudden, all‑encompassing flood that leaves only a towering mountain—and a handful of desperate travelers—above the rising waters. Those who cling to the peak watch the seas churn the land, carving the valleys and ridges that will become today’s landscape. As the waters recede, the survivors return to the newly formed terrain, bringing with them the animals that have clung to the high ground, and together they begin to repopulate the Earth.
The collection then shifts to a quiet creation myth where a lone human emerges from a humble beanpod, bewildered and thirsty. A curious raven, both trickster and teacher, gifts the stranger food and guides him toward firmer earth, hinting at the collaborative forces that shape existence. These stories blend awe‑inspiring natural forces with playful, intimate encounters, inviting listeners to glimpse the ancient worldview of the Arctic peoples.
