In this richly woven tale from the classic Arabian Nights, a prosperous kingdom spreads across the island of Khaladan, ruled by the wise King Shahzaman. Though his realm flourishes and his court is filled with many wives, the monarch is haunted by a single sorrow: the absence of an heir. Desperate for a solution, he confides in his trusted vizier, seeking any counsel that might break his long‑standing grief.

The vizier advises the king to turn to humble, devout believers, offering alms and inviting their prayers to seek divine aid. Moved by this act of generosity, the heavens answer, granting Shahzaman a son whose beauty and promise earn him the name Camaralzaman, “Moon of the Ages.” Raised under the careful guidance of a seasoned governor and a learned tutor, the young prince begins his journey toward becoming the future steward of the kingdom.
