On a remote eastern frontier, a sprawling manor belonging to the aging landowner Frederik de Voß becomes the flashpoint of a bitter clash between Polish forces and Lithuanian patriots. As the winter holidays approach, the estate is set ablaze, drawing in the de Voß children—four sons and the restless fifteen‑year‑old daughter Granuella—who find themselves caught between duty and the growing fury of neighboring peoples. The fire not only consumes the fields but also ignites a fierce struggle for identity and honor that ripples through the surrounding villages.
Amid the flames, Granuella meets a young Polish officer whose sudden obsession with her threatens to blur the line between enemy and ally. Their uneasy encounter forces her to confront painful loyalties, the loss of her brothers, and the harsh reality of a land on the brink of war. Listeners are invited to follow her fierce spirit as she navigates love, vengeance, and the dangerous politics of a region torn apart.
