Description

A tempestuous voyage sets the stage for a story of pride, passion, and hidden rivalries. As a small galley battles fierce waves en route to the Suffolk coast, its cabin holds a striking young Viscountess, her striking blue eyes and scarlet‑trimmed coat hinting at a restless spirit beneath the decorum of her aristocratic bearing. Beside her sits her husband, the newly titled Viscount Fordingbridge, whose polished appearance masks a complex mix of authority and insecurity.

Their cramped, swaying refuge becomes a crucible for tension, as whispered barbs and subtle glances reveal a marriage strained by expectations and unspoken grievances. Around them, a crew of seasoned sailors and a mysterious vessel on the horizon suggest dangers beyond the storm, while the passengers’ uneasy camaraderie hints at alliances that may shift as quickly as the sea itself. This opening promises a richly textured romance where the forces of nature mirror the turbulent currents of the heart.
