Description

In a sun‑lit May day in Paris, the story opens in a modest artist’s studio, where a blooming cherry tree sits just beyond a high wall. Louise, bedridden and fragile, is tended by her devoted sister Erna, while the brooding Henri lounges by the fire, pipe in hand, his silence speaking louder than words. The gentle clink of teacups and soft teasing mask a simmering tension among the three, hinting at unspoken desires and sibling protectiveness.

As the characters exchange witty barbs and lingering glances, the audience senses a fragile balance that could tip at any moment. Erna’s fierce loyalty to her younger sister, Henri’s aloofness, and Louise’s yearning for normalcy create a delicate emotional web. The scene sets the stage for a love that may blossom amid art, rivalry, and the looming shadows of a tragic fate.
