Description

In a rain‑slick Parisian salon of March 1794, a motley crowd of revolutionaries gathers amid copper‑plate portraits and an idle child cradled in a mother’s arms. The room hums with clamor from the streets, while figures such as the boisterous Camille Desmoulins, his pale‑skinned wife Lucile, and the calm, aristocratic Herault de Séchelles exchange wry remarks about friends now fallen beneath the guillotine. Their conversation is a cocktail of satire and dread, setting a vivid stage for the turbulent days ahead.

Into this uneasy tableau stride two of the era’s most striking personalities: the larger‑than‑life Danton, whose booming voice and fearless gaze command attention, and the thin, sharp‑eyed Robespierre, whose cold stare hints at an uncompromising resolve. Their starkly different temperaments spark a magnetic tension, as each tests the limits of revolutionary zeal and personal conviction.

The opening act captures the feverish atmosphere of a city on the brink, inviting listeners to hear the clash of ideals, the whisper of impending danger, and the human stories that pulse beneath the roar of history.
