Description

A bleak night settles over the crumbling estate of Crump, where a sudden death has cast a pall over the household. Christian de Lyndesay returns from abroad to find his brother, known as “Slinkin’” Lyndesay, already dead, and the house buzzing with uneasy servants, a somber lawyer, and a distracted doctor. The atmosphere swirls with cold winds, restless rooks, and whispered silk, hinting at an old family curse that still haunts the corridors. As the grieving family gathers, questions about loyalty, inheritance, and hidden motives begin to surface.

Within the dim library and the echoing hall, Christian confronts a strange mixture of indifference and curiosity from the butler and the other guests, while his sister Alicia maintains a composed, almost floral exterior that belies deeper sorrow. The uneasy alliances among the doctor, the lawyer, and the newly arrived Deb—a figure with a quiet resolve—set the stage for a delicate power play. Listeners are drawn into the oppressive mood of the estate, where every creak and whispered footstep suggests that the past is not yet released.
