Description

On a snow‑kissed Christmas morning the small New Forest parish gathers in a church thick with garlands and wreaths, the air humming with the choir’s exuberant anthem. The village’s lively youngsters, Amy and Eoa, dart among the decorations, while the weary rector, John Rosedew, delivers a sermon that drifts from lofty philosophy to the intimate concerns of his flock. Beneath the festive tableau, rumors stir—talk of the parson’s imminent departure and the arrival of a stranger to take his place, unsettling the tight‑knit community.

As the celebrations fade, the characters confront personal desires and old loyalties. Amy, poised to leave for the bright allure of London, must weigh her dreams against the expectations of a world that seems both familiar and foreign. Meanwhile, the forest’s ancient rhythms and the whispered presence of its unseen spirits hint at deeper forces shaping the lives of those who call it home.
