In a time when the windswept coasts of Cornwall were said to be dominated by towering giants, a band of Trojan warriors led by the bold Brutus and the steadfast Corineus sets foot on the island. Their scouts return trembling, pursued by hulking figures wielding clubs as big as oak trunks, prompting the heroes to rally their men and strike with spears and arrows never before seen in these lands. The sudden onslaught drives the giants into the hills, leaving only the wounded chief, Gogmagog, to be seized and brought back to the Roman camp.
Now a captive in the foreign encampment, Gogmagog receives unexpected hospitality while his wounds mend, and the two sides sit down to negotiate the future of the desolate territory. As Brutus outlines proposals for who shall claim the land, the giant listens in stoic silence, hinting at a cunning plan of his own. The uneasy dialogue promises a clash of wits as ancient myth meets the resolve of a conquering army.
