Description

A young English orphan named Charlie Bell washes ashore on the rugged Elm Island, a place where the sea’s fury meets a dense, untamed forest. Rescued by the sturdy and compassionate Lion Ben, who has already carved a modest homestead from the island’s wilds, Charlie finds an unexpected home among the sparse community of settlers. The early days are marked by the clash between rough‑tide fishermen‑turned‑pirates and the determined locals, setting the stage for a boy’s struggle to survive and belong.

As Charlie adjusts to his new life, he learns the values of hard work, loyalty, and the simple joys of island living—fishing, chopping wood, and sharing stories around a fire. Through his eyes, listeners experience the raw beauty of the New England coast and the formative friendships that shape a character destined for greatness, all while the island’s challenges test his courage and spirit.
