Jimmieboy is thrilled when his father brings home a brand‑new bicycle, complete with a shiny nickel bell and a set of “rheumatic” tires that promise to glide over any obstacle. His imagination runs wild, picturing the wheels as wind‑filled hoses that could lift him as easily as a bird. A daring test on a lawn‑mower shaft ends in a spectacular tumble, leaving the bike battered and the boy a little wary of his new ride.
Weeks later, while lost in a fairy‑tale picture book, Jimmieboy hears an unexpected tinkling bell and discovers that his neglected bicycle has come to life. The chatty wheel, calling itself Bikey, apologizes for the earlier crash and offers gentle, humorous counsel, rekindling the boy’s curiosity. Their newfound friendship hints at a series of whimsical escapades, as Jimmieboy learns that adventure can begin with a simple pedal turn and a talking tire.
