Description

A lone traveler finds himself caught in a bleak June night on the Chamounix Road, deep within a wind‑swept gorge of the Bernese Oberland. The moon‑lit peaks loom like silent sentinels, and the frozen river below murmurs a haunting hymn as icefalls crack in the darkness. The narrator’s isolation is palpable, his thoughts drifting between the stark beauty of the snow‑capped cliffs and the ghostly echo of forgotten souls that seem to linger in the stone‑filled air.

Just when the cold threatens to overwhelm, a sliver of moonlight breaks through the jagged summit, guiding him toward a narrow bridge over the roaring torrent. The descent eases into a tranquil valley where the scent of wildflowers and the distant chime of a church bell promise a brief respite from the night’s terror.

These early moments set a tone of eerie wonder, inviting listeners to follow the wanderer’s path through a landscape where nature’s grandeur and its hidden mysteries intertwine.
