An enemy of peace

Amid the shattered remnants of a once‑great nation, Center City clings to survival under the iron‑fisted stewardship of Lloyd Riddell. A former orphan turned mayor, Riddell has rebuilt the town brick by brick after nuclear devastation reduced the country to isolated pockets of ruin. Now a hostile faction from Northburg threatens to erase everything he has fought for, and the city teeters on the brink of another crisis.

Riddell summons his trusted scout, Len Colter, and the hulking enforcer Ken Naylor to uncover the enemy’s plans without raising guns. Their uneasy alliance forces them into a web of spies, secret messages, and a gruesome warning that even the most cautious can be silenced. As the clock ticks, Riddell must decide whether to answer the call to war with force or to forge a fragile peace through daring subterfuge.
