Description

Dr. Morgan, a scientist and psychologist working from an isolated mountain observatory, has developed a remarkable means of communicating telepathically with people on Mars and Venus. Through an experimental thought recorder, he can experience another person’s world as if he were living inside that person’s mind.

His latest connection is with Lotan, a young Venusian plant hunter on a dangerous mission to recover spores of the rare kadkor fungus. After a violent storm disables Lotan’s one-man flying craft, he is forced down on an unfamiliar island in the Ropok Ocean, surrounded by monstrous creatures, wreckage, and signs that someone—or something—has survived the disaster. As Lotan ventures into Venus’s lush and perilous wilderness, Morgan watches helplessly through his borrowed senses. This compact science-fiction adventure blends alien landscapes, strange technology, telepathy, peril, and a touch of romance.
