Description

On a breezy countryside farm, sixteen‑year‑old Peggy is known for her fearless energy. When a rain‑slick morning finds her climbing a lofty barn beam while the younger boy Bobby watches in awe, she treats the daring walk as nothing more than a game. Her curls whip in the wind and her triumphant shouts echo through the rafters, drawing a mixture of admiration and anxiety from the other children. The scene captures a world where chores, chores, and imagination intertwine, and every day promises a new challenge.

Lilian, a sensible girl of the same age, discovers Peggy’s stunt and erupts in a protective outburst, fearing for Bobby’s safety and fearing the household’s strict matriarch, Aunt Helen. Their confrontation reveals a tug‑of‑war between youthful rebellion and the expectations of a tightly knit farm family. As the sun sets, Peggy’s defiant promise to abandon her reckless tricks hints at a coming test of character—will she keep her word, or will her adventurous spirit find another outlet?
