Description

In the early decades of the nineteenth century a French émigré settles in a small Hungarian town, marrying a local woman and raising a son who quickly becomes a restless, charismatic figure. As the young Alajos steps into the world of law and politics, he finds himself caught between the fading old order and the swell of new, liberal ideas spreading through the empire. His energy draws him into parliamentary debates, secret societies, and the fervor of a nation on the brink of transformation.

Against this backdrop, the story follows his spirited daughter, whose life is shaped by the same tumultuous forces. She navigates love, familial expectations, and the lingering shadows of exile, while the streets of Budapest and the salons of Paris echo with whispered hopes for a brighter future. Listeners will be drawn into a richly textured portrait of a family striving to belong amid shifting loyalties and the promise of renewal.
