Description

Set against the glittering courts of 17th‑century India, this romance follows a powerful queen who must navigate betrayal and shifting alliances while her kingdom teeters on the brink of war. The narrative opens with the ceremonial durbar, where nobles file past the throne under a brightening sky, their cries echoing loyalty to the charismatic young commander Abbas Khan. Amid splendor and solemn vows, the queen’s counsel summons both counsel and conflict, hinting at a larger struggle.

Abbas Khan returns from a fierce clash with Abyssinian marauders, his armor scarred but his spirit unbroken. The streets swell with grateful citizens—women on rooftops, veterans, poets—all eager to crown him a hero and whisper blessings for his future. Yet beneath the adulation lies a wound that refuses to heal and a mysterious paper that may expose deeper treachery. As the queen offers him a place at the council, listeners are left to wonder how honor, love, and hidden enemies will shape his destiny.
