A weary London clerk named Bedford finds his routine shattered when he meets the eccentric inventor Mr. Cavor, whose revolutionary anti‑gravity material promises to lift objects—perhaps even a whole vessel—off the Earth. Drawn by curiosity and a string of personal mishaps, Bedford reluctantly joins Cavor’s daring experiment, setting aside his modest plans for a chance at something extraordinary.
