The People of the Crater

Six months after the world finally called a truce, a weary former combat pilot drifts through the streets of New York, searching for purpose beyond the cockpit. His chance comes when a composed, middle‑aged stranger, Gregory Farson, recognizes the name on an old newspaper clipping and offers a bold proposition: join an Antarctic expedition that promises both adventure and a paycheck. Intrigued but skeptical, Garin accepts, hoping the frozen continent might finally give his life direction.

The crew lands on the icy shore and soon faces a mysterious blue haze rising from the ice, a phenomenon that previous expeditions dismissed as a curiosity. Farson believes the mist hides volcanic activity, hidden mineral wealth, and perhaps something far older—a prophecy whispering of a Black Throne and a Daughter from the Caves of Darkness.
