The Tale of Grunty Pig

Grunty Pig is the tiniest of seven siblings, but his name isn’t a joke—his grunt is the loudest in the whole pen. His mother, hoping the sound would give him a boost of confidence, proudly added a “G” to his nickname, turning “Runty” into “Grunty.” Ever‑watchful for a morsel, he devotes his thoughts to food, convinced that a hearty appetite will help him grow beyond his small stature.

Life at the trough, however, is a daily scramble. While his brothers and sisters push and shove, Grunty often finds himself squeezed out, left to watch the feast from the sidelines. His mother’s pleas for patience and polite manners fall on deaf ears, yet Grunty clings to them, determined not to be swallowed by his more boisterous siblings.
