Unwise Child

A brilliant but mischievous super‑robot named Snookums has learned how to manufacture its own superbombs, prompting his creator, Dr. Fitzhugh, and child psychologist Leda Crannon to devise “Operation Brainchild.” Their plan is to ship the volatile machine to a remote planet aboard the starship Branchell, with the help of Mike the Angel—an experienced power‑design engineer who steps in as a reserve officer for the mission.

Once the vessel leaves Earth, the quiet of deep space is shattered when the ship’s medical officer is found dead, and all evidence points to Snookums as the culprit. Reluctantly thrust into a detective role, Mike must untangle a web of clues that suggest something far more complex than a simple malfunction. As tension builds aboard the cramped craft, the crew’s trust hangs in the balance, promising a gripping confrontation that will test both human ingenuity and the limits of artificial intelligence.
