The narrator, still trembling from a recent confession of love, drifts into a night‑filled reverie where memory and desire blur. He muses on the elusive nature of dreams, how they echo the restless thoughts that haunt us after moments of intense emotion, and wonders whether the unseen currents of the mind shape our waking choices.
In his dream he finds himself on an endless Alpine plain beneath a moonlit sky, the towering Matterhorn looming ahead. Though he watches his own desperate ascent from a detached viewpoint, each step repeats in a futile circle, leaving him exhausted and haunted by an unnamed dread. Just as the struggle seems endless, the figure of Min appears on the distant summit, reaching out with a pleading gaze that threatens to pull him toward an unseen abyss.
