An 18th-century Italian writer, naturalist, and traveler, he is best remembered for exploring Dalmatia and turning those journeys into vivid books that blended science, geography, and firsthand observation. His work helped introduce the culture and landscapes of the eastern Adriatic to a wider European audience.
