About the author

Born in Liverpool, Will Goldston became a well-known English stage magician in the early 1900s. He was also much more than a performer: he sold magic tricks, published books and magazines on conjuring, and became one of the best-known organizers in British magic.

Goldston founded the Magicians' Club in London in 1911 and served as its president, helping create a community for professionals and enthusiasts alike. He also supervised the publication of Harry Houdini's Handcuff Secrets in 1909 and later published many other works through his own company, Will Goldston Ltd.

Today, he is remembered both for his stage career and for the huge part he played behind the scenes. His writing and publishing helped preserve the methods, history, and spirit of classic magic for later generations.
