by Ville Vuoksinen
Ville Vuoksinen was a Finnish author, born in Jääski on March 12, 1894, and died in Helsinki on July 22, 1974. Earlier in life his surname was Akkanen, and bibliographic records note that he also wrote under the pen names Ville Jääskeläinen, A. Vuoksinen, and V. Vuoksinen.
His surviving public record is fairly brief, but it clearly places him among Finland’s published writers of the 1900s. One widely available work is Kun naiset pelkäävät, a one-act comedy, which shows his connection to drama as well as prose.
Because easily available source material on him is limited, many personal details about his life are not well documented online. Even so, his work remains traceable through library and public-domain records, preserving a small but lasting place for him in Finnish literary history.
