author
A Finland-Swedish novelist and journalist, he wrote with sharp irony and a clear eye for modern life. His early work was linked to Finland’s so-called "daydreamer" literary circle, and he later built a career in Stockholm as both a writer and editor.

by Ture Janson
Born in Turku on February 5, 1886, Ture Janson was a Finland-Swedish author and journalist who later settled in Stockholm, where he lived from 1929 until his death in Mariefred on December 24, 1954.
He made his debut with Inga medmänniskor in 1911. Reference works describe that book’s tired, biting irony as typical of the Finland-Swedish "dagdrivare" tradition, a loose literary current known for its skeptical, wandering tone.
Alongside fiction, Janson worked extensively in journalism and publishing. That mix of novelist, critic, and editor helped shape a career that connected Finnish-Swedish literary life with the broader Swedish cultural world.
