Topi Orpana, born Tobias Orpana on March 22, 1886, in Käkisalmi, was a Finnish poet remembered for lyrical writing and for using the pen name Juhani Suur-Juhola.
He studied at the University of Helsinki and completed a philosophy degree in 1910. Alongside his literary work, he spent much of his career as a teacher. His poems were published in the early 20th century, and his work has remained available through later archives and digital editions.
Orpana died in Käkisalmi on December 24, 1930, at just 44 years old. Although not widely known outside Finnish literary history, he stands out as a writer whose poetry still offers a glimpse of his era and its emotional landscape.
