A longtime journalist turned author, he writes from lived experience—blending practical know-how, faith, and personal history in books that range from writing advice to memoir and inspirational nonfiction.

by Roger Nielsen
Roger W. Nielsen is an American author and former journalist. Available publisher and bookseller information says he was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, grew up in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and later graduated from Brigham Young University before building a career in journalism.
His first book, Writing Content, Mastering Magazine and Online Writing (2009), is described as a partly autobiographical guide shaped by his years in magazine and online writing. He later worked on books with a strong personal and inspirational angle, including One-Mission Man, a World War II memoir created with David Ririe and author Carolyn Ririe Nielsen, and Greatness Cannot Be Locked Up, which focuses on encouragement and personal change.
Across his work, Nielsen seems drawn to true stories, resilience, and clear communication. Even when writing about difficult experiences, his books are presented as practical, hopeful, and meant to help readers see purpose in their own lives.
