About the author

Robert Vaughan is an American novelist whose work includes Westerns, crime thrillers, and historical fiction. According to his publisher biography, he sold his first book at nineteen and went on to write nearly three hundred books, with several reaching the New York Times bestseller list.

That same biography notes that he also wrote the novelization for the miniseries Andersonville and was involved with the History Channel documentary Vietnam Homecoming as a writer, producer, and participant. His career has been recognized with honors including the Spur Award and the Western Fictioneers Lifetime Achievement Award.

Outside of writing, Vaughan had a distinguished military career as a retired Army officer and helicopter pilot who served three tours in Vietnam. That background helps explain the lived-in detail and sense of action that readers often find in his fiction.
