About the author

Robert J. Lloyd is a British writer and former secondary school teacher. He studied fine art, later completed an MA in the History of Ideas, and discovered Robert Hooke’s diary while researching—an encounter that helped shape both his academic work and his fiction.

That interest grew into the Hooke & Hunt historical thriller series, novels set in Restoration London that draw on Hooke’s life, experiments, and world. His background in art and history shows in the way he builds atmosphere and detail, while keeping the story moving.

Before focusing on writing and painting, he spent about 20 years teaching. His work is often noted for combining careful historical research with the pace and intrigue of a mystery.
