Richard Fox is an American author known for military science fiction, space opera, thrillers, and some historical fiction. He is best known for The Ember War Saga, and his work has also included series such as Terran Armor Corps and The Exiled Fleet.
According to publisher and author-profile pages, he served in the United States Army and completed two combat tours in Iraq. Those experiences are often noted as a major influence on his fiction, especially the tactical detail and sense of realism in his battle scenes.
