Piet Visser

Born in 1916 and writing under the name P. Visser, he was a Dutch author whose work included historical fiction and adventure novels. His books remain visible today through library and public-domain listings, including titles such as De Zwervers van het Groote Leger.

A recurring thread in his work is an interest in Dutch history and seafaring history. One of the best-known examples is Heemskerck en Barents op Nova Zembla, which reflects his talent for turning real historical episodes into vivid storytelling.

He died in 1998. Although not widely known outside Dutch-language readers, his stories still attract interest from collectors, digital archives, and readers curious about older historical fiction for young people.
