Born in Baltimore on July 9, 1876, Otto Schoenrich was an American lawyer, judge, and author who lived to the age of 100. He is best known today for writing about the Dominican Republic and related legal and historical topics.

Alongside his writing, he held several international legal posts and also practiced law with the firm Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle. That mix of legal work and public service gave his books an informed, practical point of view.

His best-known title is Santo Domingo: A Country with a Future (1918), a study of the Dominican Republic that reflects his long-standing interest in Caribbean history, politics, and development. He died on February 9, 1977.
