About the author

Born on February 13, 1878, Nuutti Vuoritsalo was a Finnish writer and teacher who also used the name Felix Hornborg. He worked as a teacher of German and French in Helsinki from 1907 to 1909, then taught at the Finnish co-educational school in Kotka from 1909 to 1913, serving as headmaster for part of that time.

Alongside his teaching, he wrote fiction and plays in Finnish. Sources connected with his bibliography list works such as Ikiliikkuja and the play Hiukan sekava juttu, and literary references describe him both as a writer and an educator. He was also noted as one of the important early contributors to the satirical magazine Tuulispää.

Vuoritsalo died in Kotka on November 12, 1913. Although he is not widely known today, the surviving record shows a versatile literary figure whose work moved between humor, drama, and school life.
