Born on July 25, 1865, Nuno Baena was a Brazilian Esperantist who also worked as a physician and naval doctor. Sources describe him as one of the early figures of Esperanto in Brazil, and he is associated with the Brazilian Esperanto movement under the pseudonym La Forgesito.

He is noted as a co-founder of the Brazila Klubo Esperanto and as president of the 6th Brazilian Congress of Esperanto. His best-known book is Ama Stelaro, published in 1922, a volume that combines original writing with translations and is remembered as an early Brazilian contribution to Esperanto literature.
