Born Nancy Mann Waddel in Chillicothe, Ohio, in 1867, she later wrote under the pen name Mrs. Wilson Woodrow. She married engineer James Wilson Woodrow in 1897, and after the marriage ended, she continued building her literary career under that byline.
She was a remarkably productive author, publishing novels and shorter fiction in the early decades of the 20th century. Her work ranged across romance, adventure, and historical settings, with titles including The Hornet's Nest and The Piper's Price.
Woodrow died in 1935 in California. Though not widely remembered today, she was one of the many hardworking popular writers who helped shape the magazine and commercial fiction world of her time.
