She is noted especially for publishing an English edition of Andersen's and Grimm's fairy tales in 1872, helping introduce classic European stories to young readers in English. She also wrote fiction, including Englefield Grange; or, Mary Armstrong's Troubles, a Victorian novel centered on family, feeling, and social pressures.

Paull died in 1888. Confirmed biographical details about her life are limited, but the surviving publications show a writer with a clear place in the world of 19th-century popular and children's literature.
