Mississippi Historical Society

The Mississippi Historical Society is a nonprofit organization based in Jackson, Mississippi, that works closely with the Mississippi Department of Archives and History to promote understanding of the state’s history. The society was founded in 1858, and its modern form dates to a reactivation in 1952.
