1875–1962
Best known as the coauthor of Marionettes, Masks and Shadows, she brought art and theater together in a way that invited children to make, imagine, and perform. Her work links creative play with the museum world of early 20th-century Ohio.

by Winifred H. (Winifred Harrington) Mills, Louise M. (Louise Morrison) Dunn
Louise M. Dunn, also listed as Louise Morrison Dunn, was an American writer and artist born in 1875 and died in 1962. Reliable book records connect her with Marionettes, Masks and Shadows, a 1930 book created with Winifred H. Mills and illustrated by Corydon Bell.
Available biographical sources suggest she was born in East Liverpool, Ohio, attended the College of Wooster, and studied with Henry Keller. One art-history source also says she led the Cleveland Museum of Art's children's programming from 1919 to 1944, which fits well with her interest in imaginative, hands-on arts for young audiences.
Because detailed mainstream biographies are scarce, much of her public legacy today centers on that surviving book. Even so, it points to a distinctive career at the crossroads of visual art, education, and children's theater.
