About the author

Born in Tottijärvi on December 24, 1865, Kuuno Adalbert TalviOja was a Finnish teacher and scholar of literature. He worked for decades at the middle school in Heinola, where he taught religion and Swedish and also served as head of the school’s advanced classes.

He is best known as the author of Jaakko Juteini ja hänen kirjallinen toimintansa (1915), a study of the Finnish writer Jaakko Juteini. That book helped preserve and examine an important figure in Finnish literary history, showing TalviOja’s interest in careful literary research as well as teaching.

TalviOja was born with the surname Bäckman and died in Heinola on March 20, 1933. Reliable sources found here confirm his roles as an educator and literary researcher, but no suitable verified portrait image was available from the pages checked.
