About the author

Born in South Wales in 1879, Kenneth Vennor Morris was a Welsh author and theosophist who also used the Welsh form of his name, Cenydd Morus. He moved to London as a child, studied at Christ's Hospital, and later became known for fiction shaped by mythology, folklore, and a strong interest in spiritual thought.

A large part of his adult life was spent in California at the Point Loma theosophical community, where he worked and wrote. His books often retold or reimagined legendary material, especially from Celtic tradition, giving his stories a dreamlike, old-world feeling that set them apart from more conventional adventure fiction.

He returned to Wales in the last years of his life and died in 1937. Though never a household name, he has continued to attract readers who enjoy early fantasy, mythic storytelling, and beautifully textured prose.
